Our market-leading client in Guildford seeks a Lead IT Technician to join their growing team.

My client is a UK-wide group of ICT experts enabling businesses to work smarter through technology. They specialise in the design, implementation, and support of a range of Cloud services and business applications including I.T. managed services, I.T. infrastructure support, hosted collaboration, and mobile communication solutions.

What will you be doing day-to-day?

The Lead IT Technician is responsible for operational management of the services and staff directly engaged with managed services clients. These comprise a number of schools at which my client has embedded onsite staff responsible for the IT service.

You will regularly attend each client site to provide technical and service support for the onsite teams. You will produce monthly service reports and ensure we hit or exceed SLAs and KPIs.

You will help the school develop its IT and IT Service improvement initiatives.

You will act as a liaison between onsite teams, school staff and stakeholders, with a focus on IT service delivery and technical excellence.

Overview of the Lead IT Technician role:

  • Provide Team Leadership for onsite managed service technical staff.
  • Ensure day to day processes for managed services are maintained and followed, initiating improvements within commercial constraints.
  • Provide technical advice and support for each of the managed service schools, in line with the companies standards.
  • Work with the wider support team and be a point of escalation for significant technical issues and challenges.
  • Work with the Service Management, Account Management and Projects teams to identify opportunities and to help deliver solutions.

Lead IT Technician - Qualifications and experience:

  • A minimum of three years experience in a similar technical IT services role.
  • Experience of working with and supporting a range of information technologies, ideally including:
  • Microsoft technologies: 365, Azure, Windows, AD, Server, HyperV
  • Networks: network switches, wireless networks, routers, cabling infrastructure, firewalls
  • VMWare

Desirable qualifications:

  • Microsoft certifications
  • ITIL/Service Management certifications
  • Other technical certifications
