About the Role

Full Stack Software Engineer

Remote | UK or Europe

Salary: UK salary band listed applies to UK-based candidates. Compensation across Europe is benchmarked according to the country you live in.

I am partnering with a high-growth software company that I have worked with for the past few years, and I have personally helped hire more than 70% of their engineering team.

They have been in business for over three years and, after securing several major contracts, are now expanding their engineering team again. This is a fully remote position open to candidates anywhere in the UK or Europe. The business also brings the team together several times a year in different countries, with all travel and accommodation fully paid for.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a company building sophisticated software that supports highly regulated processes central to medical progress and innovation. Their platform helps specialist users work faster, with greater confidence, better quality, and lower operational overhead across the planning, onboarding, build, validation, submission, and review of complex clinical trial workflows and outputs.

The role

As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will join a high-calibre engineering team building a modern platform that delivers clinical trial insights to specialist users across technical, medical, and regulatory environments.

You will be working on a suite of core platform capabilities that support the planning, onboarding, build, validation, submission, and review of complex workflows and outputs. The wider platform combines application development, data analysis, workflow tooling, and visualisation to help users navigate highly complex processes more efficiently and with greater confidence.

Their data pipelines analyse documentation, code, logs, data, and results to build traceability and logic lineage across critical workflows. This creates a rich information layer that can be used by experts and increasingly enhanced through AI-driven capabilities.

As part of the engineering team, you will help build and test new functionality, troubleshoot customer issues, identify root causes, and deliver fixes that improve performance and user impact. You will also contribute to testing, deployment, security, compliance, and overall engineering quality.

Tech environment

You will be working in an engineering environment built around:

  • TypeScript, React, Next.js and Node.js
  • Modern product development, with some frontend exposure and the opportunity to deepen your experience in UI engineering over time
  • Cloud-native deployment with Docker and Kubernetes
  • CI/CD and release workflows
  • Supporting technologies across data processing, workflow orchestration, and AI-enabled tooling

What they are looking for

  • Commercial experience with TypeScript and some exposure to React or modern frontend development
  • Experience building full stack or client-server applications
  • Experience with Next.js, Node.js, or similar modern JavaScript frameworks
  • A solid understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and frontend fundamentals, without needing to be a frontend specialist from day one
  • Experience with testing and writing reliable production code
  • Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine interest in continuing to develop frontend skills

Important note

You do not need to be a frontend expert, but you should have some exposure to modern frontend development and be keen to build on it.

This role would suit a strong full stack or backend-leaning engineer who has some frontend exposure and wants to continue developing in that area.

Nice to have

  • Tailwind CSS or similar
  • Exposure to graph theory or algorithmic problem solving
  • Interest in application security
  • Experience working in regulated, compliance-led, or validation-heavy environments

Why join?

  • Fully remote across the UK and Europe
  • UK salary band listed applies for UK-based candidates, with European compensation benchmarked by location
  • Opportunity to join a company that has already won major contracts and is scaling
  • Meaningful product with genuine real-world impact
  • Fully paid international meetups several times a year
