Technical Project Manager

Role Overview

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering live event projects to the highest technical and operational standards.

This Technical Project Management position combines project management, technical design, resource coordination, and on-site supervision, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in line with industry best practices.

Technical Project Manager – Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining focus on quality, efficiency, and deadlines.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to gather requirements, briefs, and project objectives.
  • Conduct site visits and meetings to develop project plans and technical solutions.
  • Translate briefs into technical designs and equipment specifications across lighting, audio, video, staging, rigging, and power.
  • Prepare accurate budgets, costings, and project documentation.
  • Produce AutoCAD drawings and Health & Safety documentation to support technical delivery.
  • Coordinate logistics, resources, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective project execution.
  • Supervise projects on-site, overseeing all aspects from load-in to load-out.
  • Monitor and update project specifications and budgets as projects progress.
  • Conduct debriefs following project completion to capture learnings and improvements.
  • Support business development activities, including preparing proposals and technical input for pitches.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to the development of internal processes, systems, and best practice standards.

Technical Project Manager - Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in technical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of live event technical production and Health & Safety standards.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and build positive working relationships.
  • Valid driving license and passport, with some flexibility for national and international travel.
